Terms of service

Effective October 21, 2026

The rules for using usewriteoff.com, the WriteOff waitlist and the WriteOff app.

Agreeing to these terms

These terms are between you and WriteOff LLC, a Kentucky limited liability company ("WriteOff", "we", "us"). By using usewriteoff.com, joining our waitlist, or using the WriteOff app once it is released, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use WriteOff.

The waitlist

Joining the waitlist means you want to hear from us when WriteOff opens. It is not a purchase, a reservation, or a promise that WriteOff will launch on a certain date or at all. We can change or end the waitlist at any time. You can unsubscribe whenever you like.

What WriteOff does

WriteOff helps you keep records of receipts, checks, mileage and hours and shows estimates of write-offs and tax. Features may change as we build the app.

Not tax, legal or accounting advice

WriteOff is a record-keeping tool. We are not a tax preparer, accounting firm or law firm, and nothing on our website or in the app is tax, legal or accounting advice.

Your accounts and content

When the app is available you will need an account. Keep your sign-in details private and tell us if you think someone else has used your account.

You own the receipts, photos, entries and other content you put into WriteOff. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to run the service for you, including reading your receipts to fill in details. You promise you have the right to upload what you upload.

Using WriteOff fairly

Please do not:

Fees

WriteOff is not sold yet. If we add paid plans, we will show the price and what it includes before you pay.

Our content

The WriteOff name, logo, design and software belong to WriteOff LLC or its licensors. Some images on our website are AI-generated. These terms do not give you any rights to our brand or software beyond using the service as intended.

Ending your use

You can stop using WriteOff at any time. We can suspend or end access if you break these terms or if we need to protect the service or other people. If your account ends, our privacy policy explains what happens to your information.

No warranties

WriteOff and this website are provided "as is" and "as available". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no promises that the service will be uninterrupted, error-free or accurate, and we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose.

Limit of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, WriteOff LLC and its members and contractors are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost data, tax penalties or interest. Our total liability for any claim relating to WriteOff is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US$100. Some places do not allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Kentucky, and you and we agree to their jurisdiction.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and if a change is significant we will tell you by email. If you keep using WriteOff after a change takes effect, you accept the updated terms.
